I dream of rain
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
I wake in vain
I dream of love
as time runs through my hand
I dream of fire
Those dreams are tied
to a horse that will never tire
And in the flames
Her shadows play
in the shape of a man's desire
This desert rose
Each of her veils, a secret promise
This desert flower
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this
I dream of rain
I lift my gaze to empty skies above
I close my eyes
This rare perfume is the sweet intoxication of her love
Sweet desert rose
This memory of Eden haunts us all
This desert flower
This rare perfume
is the sweet intoxication of the fall

Hey folks!
It's been a while that I wrote a longer journal about.... well, just thoughts, really, ideas, dreams... the things that move and push and inspire us as artists.
So, if you're in the mood and have a little time - let's have a talk
It's been a long hiatus I've been on before flooding you with ocarinas, but now that I'm back I.... feel very deeply satisfied again, because the soul loves to soar on the winds of inspiration and my soul always enjoyed doing so in a merry flock
Now that I'm back I enjoyed both meeting new, amazing people - I really had some great conversations - and also sharing the artistic aspects of my life with my old friends here again.
But, say, what's your artistic motor these days?
For me it obviously is that old musical instrument, the ocarina.
But I would like to correct myself here: In my last journal I talked about a "project", but I think that's not the right term. A project is set in a finite timeframe, right? I guess our... whatever we shall call it is very unlimited, so it feels more like an ongoing adventure, a journey with an open end, full of wonders to be found and with something new waiting around each turn of the road
So far it was fun to work together with friends, to try out a whole lotta new materials (like clay and different coloring-techniques, felt, ... and there is so much more to come) and techniques, to learn new things (I finally try to grasp musical theorie
) and meet new people. So this trip is made of pure awesome!
It's also nice to bring a whole new element into my artistic endeavours: Sound! I've always been in love with music, it touches the very soul in such a mysterious, wonderful way, evoking deep emotions.... and it's fun to TALK about this passion! Fun to share beloved pieces and stories.... And we're not only talking about music, that's for sure! I really loved learning more about balljointed dolls, for example! So amazing!
Yes, I fully enjoy the community-life again and also playing an active part in it now. Thanks to
for making me co-founder of the
Feel free to visit us there if you're curious!
I also like the idea of that little minicontest-thingy I held here:
ravenfeatherangel.deviantart.c…Not only do I feel that it's a nice way to interact with you but I also found it very inspiring and..... pushing. To fullfill
's wish I first hat to look up the song she wished for (which I love) and in order to tab it I had to transpose it first. Problem: I had absolutely NO idea how to do that! Thanks to my dear friend Frauke, who patiently taught me and helped me. See: Finally got the motivation to take a deeper look into music theory and learn something new, all thanks to that little game
Soooooo...... why not do this more often???
As for future plans: I wanna make a tutorial about creating your first ocarina together with
, experiment more with materials (e.g. a deeper look into needle-felting), build more ocarinas, create and illustrate more tabsheets (maybe even compose something myself) and if there's still TIME left I may also return to creating art of my OCs and their worlds again (I started re-working the world-map of Trenora and man, that's one big-ass project!).
And what are YOU up to???
